Omaha Dealership fined $100,000 by State
The Nebraska State Vehicle Licensing Board imposed a $100,000 fine against an Omaha Hummer Dealership for falsifying 214 vehicle records.
The $100,000 fine was a record - almost seven times higher than the previous fine received by an auto dealership. The dealership was accused of falsifying 214 vehicle records by processing titles and registrations in an effort to secure $300,000 in incentive funds from General Motors. Most of the 214 vehicles were exported and never actually sold to a U.S. customer. The investigation began when local officials became concerned that Sales Tax submissions were not keeping pace with vehicle registrations. The report indicates that the incentive issues with General Motors have been resolved. Here's a link to the news report: http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pag...u_sid=10288535 |
