Default Who are you using for insurance ?

Have been an independent now for about 3 years now. When we were franchise we used Zurich (Currently with). Just curious what insurance company other independents are using for their business?

Thanks in advance.

We have had Auto-Owners for years. Even after we were cut from Jeep, now powersports. I really think it has as much to do with the agent as the company. We have had the same agent for 25+ years.

I agree the agent is the key.

We had Erie for 10 years.

We switched to Motorists 5 years ago, during the Auto meltdown, to save money. That was a mistake. Hard to deal with. Adjuster tells you one thing and company doesn't honor it. Basically, take it or leave it.
Rates increase every year. Either because the industry has high claims, or because we had a claim. Either way rates went up every year...

Agreed on the agent. I have used Zurich as a franchised dealer for 16 yrs and the last 3 as an independent. Now I am being punished because I have had 3 hail claims in the last 3 yrs so my loss ratio looks bad. That is it, if there was a fender bender or something I would just eat them.
Getting quotes from Sentry and Federated, any other suggestions for the Texas area?

CEM Insurance for last 9 years as independent...although with 2 different agents...there are several agencies in Texas that specialize in small independent dealers.

This is way too late, but we use an agent, KnH Insurance. He has several just suited for the car biz. Let me know if you need info. He was with Sentry for years, btw.
