Default Ford's next Mustang won't be retro

We recently had a thread on DealershipForum that discussed the difficulty that designers have when they have to create a successor to a vehicle that was based on a "retro" design. The Volkswagen Beetle, MINI, Fiat 500 were all cited as examples.

One of our members also mentioned the Detroit 3's muscle cars and noted they had the same challenge since they're mostly "retro" designs which is why I thought the following report from MSN was interesting - click here

According to the report the next version of the Ford Mustang which is due in 2014 will not be an evolution of the "retro" design. It appears the designers had a fresh sheet of paper and it will be interesting to see what they come up with.
